Teak FSC Reclaimed is milled from teak that is over 50 years old, recovered from old Javanese houses and structures. Half a century of tropical life gives this teak its signature depth: rich grain patterns, natural patina, timeworn texture and a warmth that new-growth teak simply does not have.

Rustic grade, honestly aged

This is a rustic-grade product — every plank is expected to show natural knots, cracks and tonal variation. That is the appeal: an authentic, eco-friendly aesthetic where no two panels are identical. The aged teak is also naturally oil-rich and decay-resistant, which is why it has survived decades of use and will keep performing on your wall.

Why 50+ year old teak performs

Teak that has grown for half a century develops a dense grain and high natural oil content, which is why old Javanese houses used it for load-bearing beams and roof structures. When we reclaim those beams, we get wood that is naturally resistant to moisture, decay and insects — then we re-mill it into 500 x 200 mm cladding planks without losing that inherent strength. The aged patina, grey streaks and open grain that appear in the Weathered Grey and Rustic Old finishes are exactly the qualities designers pay a premium for in new timber.

• Why is rustic-grade teak priced differently? Rustic grade uses genuine reclaimed teak with natural character marks; the cost reflects the sourcing, sorting and preparation of aged timber.
• Is it suitable for humid climates? Teak’s natural oils make it highly moisture-resistant; combined with B4/D4 glue it performs well in tropical interiors.
